By day, I am a professional content writer in Cape Town, South Africa, by night a fantasy writer. I have a professional background in psychology and use this with my experience to craft stories that lean on characters and imaginative world-building.

I live in New York City and write books for kids of all ages (including adults)! Most of my work is in picture books, though I have longer works (novels) in progress. I tend to write on the themes of nature, family and culture stemming from my life experiences.

I'm a Sunday Times bestselling author of nine SFF novels, with my latest being the epic fantasy romance, Dragonfall. Other work includes near future space thriller Goldilocks, the co-written space opera Seven Devils duology (with Elizabeth May), cyberpunk thrillers False Hearts and Shattered Minds, and the award-winning Micah Grey trilogy, which begins with Pantomime. I'm a former creative writing lecturer and current writing coach at The Novelry.

Sophia has been telling stories since she could talk. She loves learning almost as much as she loves writing, pursuing both her undergraduate and master’s degrees. She has studied archaeology, anthropology, and the languages and histories of a variety of cultures. Her master’s degree is in medieval history, with a focus on the British Isles. She’s been fortunate enough to participate in three archaeological excavations and surveys–one at a Native American settlement in southern Indiana, one at a Tudor estate in Essex, and one at an early medieval ringfort in County Roscommon, Ireland. After marrying her high school sweetheart, attending grad school, and moving nearly ten times in as many years, Sophia and her husband settled into a lake house in northern Indiana. When she isn’t working on her next novel, you can find her in the garden and covered in dirt. They live happily in the middle of nowhere with two little boys, two atrociously rude doggos, and one ornery cat.

S.J. Walker's love of fantasy fiction began in junior high, when she fell into the world of "A Wrinkle in Time". Eventually she was introduced to "The Hobbit" and that set the stage for her desire to write her own fantasy fiction books. Throughout her university years, S.J. Walker discovered many talented authors and exposure to these fabulous worlds set in motion the creation of her own fictional world. The first book in the series, "The War of the Dragons", took over 20 years to write but then the following books were completed within a year of the first book's release. While fantasy fiction is S.J. Walker's favorite genre to write, she is currently tackling the historical fiction world with her new venture.

I work in the IT field and I try to use my knowledge of computers to make my stories as accurate as I can when it comes to technology. I love reading comic books and superhero novels so I made sense for me to write my own superhero stories.
