Install Dabble on mobile
Looking for Dabble in the App Store? You won’t find it there, and that’s on purpose. To install Dabble on iPhone and Android, you add it to your home screen straight from your browser.
Dabble’s mobile app is a web app. You add it once, and it opens in its own window like anything else on your phone. No Apple App Store, no Google Play, nothing to download.
Here’s how to add it on any device, plus what to do when the install option plays hide-and-seek.
We’ll cover:
- Before you begin: the one thing to have ready
- Steps: add Dabble to your home screen on any device
- Tips: updates, offline writing, and the in-app shortcut
- Troubleshooting: when the install option won’t show up
Before you begin
Section titled “Before you begin”You need a Dabble account, the same one you use on the web or desktop. Sign in on your phone and your projects sync down automatically.
iPhone and iPad
Section titled “iPhone and iPad”On iPhone and iPad, every browser runs on Safari under the hood. So these steps work no matter which browser you open.
- Open
app.dabblewriter.comin your browser. - Tap the Share button.
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Confirm the name and tap Add.
Dabble appears on your Home Screen as its own app. Open it, sign in, and your projects load.
Already signed in on your phone? Open your account menu and tap Install Dabble. Dabble spots which device and browser you’re on and shows you the taps for it.

Android (Chrome or Edge)
Section titled “Android (Chrome or Edge)”- Open
app.dabblewriter.comin Chrome or Edge. - Tap the three-dot menu and choose Install app (or Add to Home screen).
- Confirm to add Dabble to your home screen.
Install Dabble in your account menu works here too. It reads your device and browser, then shows the Android steps.

Android (Firefox)
Section titled “Android (Firefox)”- Open
app.dabblewriter.comin Firefox. - Tap the menu and choose Install (or Add to Home screen).
- Browser menus move around between versions. When they do, Install Dabble in your account menu is the current answer, because it reads your device instead of guessing.
- Because Dabble is a web app, it updates itself. There’s nothing to download or reinstall when a new version ships.
- Your work saves to your device first, then syncs to your account. So a spotty connection won’t stop you from writing.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”- Don’t see Add to Home Screen on iPhone or iPad? Make sure you tapped the Share button and scrolled past the row of apps. The option lives further down the list.
- No install option on Android? Open the page in Chrome, Edge, or Firefox rather than an in-app browser (like the one inside a social media app), then try the menu again.
