Request a feature for Dabble
You’re deep in your manuscript and it hits you: Dabble should really do this. Maybe it’s a tiny tweak. Maybe it’s the feature that would change your whole writing week.
Either way, the team wants to hear it. Dabble has a public feature board where you can pitch ideas, back the ones you love, and watch what’s coming next.
We’ll cover:
- Open the feature board: get there from inside Dabble
- Search before you post: your idea may already be up
- Upvote the ideas you want: the single best thing you can do
- Post a new request: when nothing matches
- How the team picks what to build: why votes matter
Open the feature board
Section titled “Open the feature board”- In the top bar of the app, click the Help button (the question-mark icon).
- Choose Request a Feature from the menu.
That opens Dabble’s feature board at dabble.featureupvote.com in a new tab. Your manuscript stays open right where you left it.

Search before you post
Section titled “Search before you post”Before you write anything, look for your idea. Dabble’s writers are a busy bunch, so odds are good someone already asked for the thing you want.
Type a word or two into the search box at the top of the board. If a matching request comes up, you don’t need a new one. Open it and add your vote instead.

Upvote the ideas you want
Section titled “Upvote the ideas you want”Found a request that matches yours? Upvote it. This is the most useful thing you can do on the board.
Each request shows a vote count. Click the vote button on any idea you’d love to see, and your voice gets added to the tally. You can upvote as many ideas as you like.
Voting on an existing request does far more than posting a fifth copy of it. It pools everyone who wants the same thing into one number the team can actually read.
Post a new request
Section titled “Post a new request”Nothing matches? Then it’s a fresh idea, and the board wants it.
- Click the button to add a new request (near the top of the board).
- Give it a clear, short title. “Dark mode for the plot grid” beats “an idea I had.”
- Add a description with the why: what you’re trying to do and how the feature would help.
- Submit it.
Your request goes live for other writers to find and upvote. The clearer the title, the easier it is for people who want the same thing to vote it up.
How the team picks what to build
Section titled “How the team picks what to build”Here’s the honest part. Dabble’s writers are so passionate that the board holds far more great ideas than the team could ever build at once. That’s a good problem, but it’s a real one.
So the team leans on votes. The requests writers rally behind rise to the top, and that’s a big signal for what gets built next. Dabble ships updates constantly, and a lot of them start as a well-loved request right here.
Which is why upvoting beats reposting every time. Find your favorite idea, add your vote, and help it climb.
